THANK YOU

“We need to continually remember that what This Is My City did so well is that it gave people the gumption to move forward in their life by feeding them at the soul level.”

This is My City Thanks All the Many Supporters of the 2012 Festival

Special Thanks for Your Inspiration!

Elizabeth Malyon and the Estate of
Bernard Safran:

Elizabeth Malyon is the inspiration for the 2012 Festival. She approached the staff members at The City of Calgary Arts & Culture, looking for an exhibition opportunity for her fatherís paintings and photographs. Bernard Safranís sensitive depictions of street life resonated with the work of This is My City, and partners came together under this common theme. Many thanks to Elizabeth for the inspiration!

The City of Calgary:

The City of Calgary is deeply invested in supporting the expression of all of Calgaryís citizens, and proud to support this inaugural festival through additional programming opportunities that provide a framework and critical dialogue that bring together all of TMCís many partners. The City is pleased to present the opening event, the panel discussions, the closing block party in addition to being inspiration and support for this program since 2008. TMC especially thanks The City of Calgary Public Art Program, and the tireless efforts of Dawn Ford and Quyen Hoang.

Thanks for Sharing the Vision!

Calgary Public Library, Central Library:

The generous lending of space for exhibitions, panel discussions, the John Dutton Theatre for the performance of The Eviction of the Stuart Block, and the alleyway for the closing Block Party are vital contributions to the success of the festival. In particular, TMC thanks Evette Berry for her sensitivity and eagerness to help.
